Inherit
Inherit parts
The Shoe style development with Grafis ensues in four stages:
-
load background image of a last
-
Call and adjust a interactive Last construction
- Develop a draft with all required design elements
-
deriving production pattern pieces, such as the vamp, tongue, lacing on the outside and inside, heel, lining and others.
The parts from these developmental stages are connected so that alterations to the basic block are applied to the draft pattern and thus, to the production patterns.
Rules for inheriting/detaching objects from other parts
For inherit, the following important rules apply:
- To inherit objects, the part which inherits the objects must be active.
- The part from which objects are to be transferred must be visible on screen but inactive.
- Only parts with a higher part number can inherit from parts with a lower part number.
There are three variations of inherit:

1. inherit objects ![]()
inherit objects
enables the inheritance of points and lines of a part. After clicking
set new ‘clicks’
, the objects can be attached again individually. The click connection can also be established with one single click. The objects of the part are first highlighted in colour for control purposes.
This variation is primarily used for inheriting objects for the creation of production pattern pieces. Therefore, it is also used in the part assistant application.
2. inherit for modules ![]()
inherit for modules
enables the inheritance of points and lines of a part or several parts. inherit for modules
offers the highest possible flexibility when creating your own modules. The pick connections can be detached and reattached to any construction. During new attachment, each object is clicked individually, lines must be clicked with consideration to the line direction. A number of lines can be linked directly into one line. This is useful, for example, for the waistband development with a flexible number of waist darts.
3. inherit basic block![]()
inherit basic block
passes on all objects of a part. This also includes the invisible objects which reappear when switching options. This click connection can be re-established with a single click only onto parts with exactly matching object structure. As a rule, these are basic blocks.
