The sub-menu point construction

Grafis works with the construction objects point and line. For the construction of these objects, the sub-menus point and direction construction are of particular significance.

With the sub-menu point construction, the position of a point is determined in the base size and all other sizes.

A point object is created with the point tool. The point tool uses the sub-menu point construction for the construction of the position of the point object.

A line object is created with the line object tool. The line tool uses the sub-menu point construction for the construction of the position of starting point and end point of the line.

As the point position is determined for the base size and for all other sizes, it is important to think carefully for every construction step, which variation of the point construction makes sense for the specific step. On a line of 100mm length, points constructed at 20% and 20mm are placed at exactly the same position. When the length of the line changes during grading, the two points are positioned at different locations.

The following variations are available for construction of the point position:

  Description

Shortcuts

Free mode

no specific variation active The variation is a result of the cursor position.

combination of click point , click line , freehand

Pressing <Shift> selects the starting point or final point of a line.
click point attach to an existing point object
click line

attach to a line at the closest relative position to the cursor

Pressing <Shift> selects the starting point or final point of a line.

relative length

attach to a line at a relative length

The relative value is either entered or defined by the cursor position with/ without raster.

partial length of a line

attach to a line at a partial length

The value for the partial length is either entered or determined with the cursor position with/ without raster.

intersection attach to the intersection of two lines or curves
xy co-ordinates

position from the x and y co-ordinates relating to the co-ordinate origin

The x and y co-ordinates are either entered or defined by the cursor position with or without raster.

raster

Activate raster / lower raster value / higher raster value
