With the
cut out
tool, one or more line section are cut from a contour line. This occurs in the intersection of the contour line with line pairs for separate and cut respectively. Typical application is following the tool
relocate dart
, when dart hoods are to be generated subsequently. The active switch between
separate
and
cut
is omitted.
- Select tool from the Toolbar.
- Activate / deactivate
cyclic
in the
context bar
. - Select a contour line for cutting out with respect to the right principle
For certain construction processes, it is necessary to define what is the start and the end of a line. The line receives a direction.
Grafis supports the user with the so-called "right principle cursor" which additionally has a direction indicator. - select separation line
- select cutting line
- if required, select further separation and cutting lines
Separation lines and cutting lines must be clicked in the correct order. Mind the direction in which the contour line has been selected.
After
cut out
, the original direction of the contour line is indicated with an arrow. The arrow also indicates the original, now shortened, contour line. If individual line sections are subsequently linked, starting with the original object, and the original direction is reinstated, then, already created daughter parts can run error-free. In this way, the tool
cut out
can also be used in mother parts.
