Rectangles
This tool is similar to the tool line construction.

Functions of the context bar
If this button is active, the drag points of the active construction can be adjusted. Depending on the drag area, different drag points are available.
With this function, an existing displacement line can be deselected or a new displacement line can be selected . If the function is active, the points / lines for which a displacement line can be selected or deselected are marked. The cursor symbol indicates whether a displacement line already exists
or not
. Any line of the active part can be selected as displacement line. The right principle must be considered, as this determines the move direction.
The function
cutting line
is only active for the type rectangle with direction . Having selected the cutting line, the new rectangle does not have a given width; it is extended to or cut off at the cutting line. Clicking on
switches to the mode for selection of the cutting line. A set cutting line can be deselected in this mode.
The point for the height of the rectangle can be attached via the
sub-menu point construction
For the construction of these objects, the sub-menus point is of particular significance. The sub-menus appear not only for the tools line and point but for almost all tools for object creation or object transformation .
With point construction, the position of the point in the base size and all other sizes is determined.
in the rectangle tool. In this case, no fixed value is used for the height but the defined click point determines the height. The height point is a base point for which the relative options and functions apply, Detaching the height point is also done via this function.
An interactive rectangle of the type point to point
or with direction
can be switched to the other type at any time after calling. Clicking on one of the two buttons in the
context bar
starts the click process where the width point for
switch type: point to point
or the direction for
switch type: with direction
must be re-defined. The original
starting point
is always transferred during type switch.
A set height point remains intact during type switch.
With click new, the entire click process is gone through again. The basic elements of the active function, e.g. points, lines, directions are queried one after another. You can decide separately for each basic element whether to retain it or set it again. A right click accepts the original position/ setting.
In this way, individual points or the direction for the rectangle can be retained with a right click and other points or the direction can be re-defined.
Options (selection)
This option influences the shaping of the top edge of the rectangle. The position of the pivot point determines where the height of the rectangle is adjusted and about which point the top edge can be rotated. The third variation, where the pivot point in positioned in the centre, is active by default.
For variations 1 and 2, the pivot point is positioned on the left or on the right at the top edge of the rectangle. The height is adjusted on the opposite side.
This option determines whether the inclination of the top edge and the rectangle sides is measured in mm or in °.
This option refers to the lateral extension of the rectangle. The effect of this option is only visible if the top edge is inclined.
Extension right-angled: the extension amount is measured at a right angle to the original line position. The new rectangle corner is located at the end of the right-angled auxiliary line. The inclination of the top edged is altered.
Extension following direction: The extension amount is also measured at a right angle to the original position. The top edge is extended following the direction.
