spread
Spread is purely a development tool. Unlike drape and shape, spread does not require a closed contour between the single spread lines. Each spread line is constructed individually. Marginal settings are only possible with spread, as there is no hood creation in the tool itself. Marginal settings could be radial concentrations of spread lines onto one point. This is possible as the spread lines have no minimum distance between each other, here. However, the number of spread lines cannot be altered subsequently.
Spread and drape and shape can also be called in mother parts as the object structure remains intact.
This tool
spread with lines
is used if one or more spread lines have been created already. The number of spread lines cannot be altered subsequently.

- click 1st spread line (consider the right principle
For certain construction processes, it is necessary to define what is the start and the end of a line. The line receives a direction.
Grafis supports the user with the so-called "right principle cursor" which additionally has a direction indicator.) - click one of the two parallels to define the spread direction
- click or construct further spread lines or continue with right click or

- select objects to be spread

spread with lines ![]()
Click the following objects:
- click spread lines (consider the right principle)
Depending on the direction in which the first spread line has been clicked, the position of the drag cursors in the interactive environment changes. This first click does not determine the spread direction. The spread direction is determined by clicking one of the two lines.
Click the following objects:
- construct the starting point of the spread line with the sub-menu point construction
- construct the end point of the first spread line with the sub-menu point construction
Click the following objects:
- construct the starting point of the first spread line with the sub-menu point construction
- Align the line with the sub-menu direction construction (set basic direction, set difference direction)
- Spread with direction to knife or continue with right click

Function of context bar
If this button is active, the drag points of the active construction can be adjusted. Depending on the drag area, different drag points are available.
This function is only available for the tool spread. With this function, an existing displacement line can be deselected or a new displacement line can be selected and the spread lines can be extended to existing line or released. If the function is active, the points / lines, for which a displacement line can be selected or deselected and for which a cutting line can be selected, are marked. The cursor symbol indicates whether a displacement line already exists
or not
. Any line of the active part can be selected as displacement line. The right principle must be considered, as this determines the move direction.
The interactive spread of the type
spread from point to point
or
spread with direction
can be switched to the other type at any time after calling. Clicking on one of the two buttons in the
context bar
starts the click process where the
switch type: point to point
for
end point
or the direction for
switch type: with direction
are re-defined. The original
starting point
is always transferred during type switch.
This function only becomes active if diverging from a master value
The master value controls the values of the other objects in tools with several objects for interactive settings. If it is changed, all other values also change. As a rule, the master value is assigned to the first object selected when calling., further values have been set additionally or separately. This functionality is available in some tools only after option switch.
zeroise values
resets all additional or separate adjustments.
If, for example, the option adjust spread amount is set to adjust spread amount additional or adjust spread amount individual, all spread amounts of all spread lines can be altered. If alterations have been made to subordinate spread lines, these alterations can be set to zero with
zeroise values
.
With click new, the entire click process is gone through again. The basic elements of the active function, e.g. points, lines, directions are queried one after another. You can decide separately for each basic element whether to retain it or set it again. A right click accepts the original position/ setting.
The select object dialogue opens, where additional objects can be selected or previously selected objects can be deselected
. With reset
, all selected objects are deselected. At least one object must be selected for the button
continue
to become active, Clicking on this button terminates submitting.
Options

move spread lines along the base line: the move amount for the start point and end point of the spread line is calculated along the displacement line.
move spread line parallel: the spread line is displayed as a parallel to the base position displayed as a dashed line. In this case, the move amount at the starting point equals the parallel distance to the base position . The move amount at the end point is an additional amount to the parallel distance.
Type with direction![]()
move spread lines along the base line: the move amount for the starting points and end points of the spread lines is measured along the displacement line. The direction of the spread lines remains unchanged.
move spread line parallel: the spread line is displayed as a parallel to the base position displayed as a dashed line. In this case, the move amount at the starting point equals the parallel distance to the base position . The move amount at the end point is an additional amount to the parallel distance.
These options are only active in the spread drag area.

This option controls whether the drag cursor at the end of the master spread line is calculated additionally or directly.
spread spacing at end additional: The drag cursor at the end of the spread line works in addition to the spacing amount at the start of the spread line. In this case, the spacing amount at the end of the spread line equals the spacing amount at the start of the spread line plus the amount set for the end of the spread line.
spread spacing at end individual: The spacing amount at the end of the spread line is set directly with this drag cursor.
This option controls how the spread amounts are generated for the subordinate spread lines.
Adjust collective: the adjustments to the master spread line also apply to the subordinate lines. The spread spacing is set only for the master spread line.
Adjust additional: additional drag cursors for the spacing amount appear at the subordinate spread lines. In this case, the spread spacing for the subordinate spread lines consists of the spread spacing of the master spread line plus the spread spacing adjusted for the subordinate spread line.
adjust individual: the spread amount can be set separately for each subordinated spread line. The options spread spacing additional or collective are not active in this case.
This option controls whether a basic amount is set and distributed for spreading or whether the spread amount is pre-set for each spread line individually. If the variation collective is active, the basic amount is initially distributed evenly to all spread lines. The possible additional amounts at the individual spread lines are then added.
