Separate or cut at a cutting line

Separating or cutting with a cutting line is the accurate option. First, a cutting line is to be determined. One or several lines can be separated or cut with it.

Step-by-step guide
  • Select the cutting line or construct a temporary cutting line with cutting line from point

With select cutting line, an existing line is defined as cutting line. With cutting line from point , the first point of the cutting line is constructed and the other point is defined by moving the mouse freehand. The current cutting line is displayed in a different colour and extended.

  • activate separate or cut

With separate, the clicked line is separated at the intersection with the cutting line; provided the two lines intersect.

Example: separate

With cut, the section of the line located beyond the cutting line, in relation to the cursor, is removed. The cursor position indicates the line section to remain intact. Result of this cutting is one line.

Example: cut

A line ending before the cutting line is lengthened up to it when cutting with cutting line. This is also known as 'cutting on" amongst Grafis users.

  • if required, set cut marker
