Rules for inheriting/detaching objects from other parts

For inherit, the following important rules apply:

1. To inherit objects, the part which inherits the objects must be active.
2. The part from which objects are to be transferred must be visible on screen but inactive.
3. Only parts with a higher part number can inherit from parts with a lower part number.

inherit objects enables the inheritance of points and lines of a part. After clicking set new ‘clicks’ , the objects can be attached again individually. The click connection can also be established with one single click. The objects of the part are first highlighted in colour for control purposes.

Only when the button is active is the net contour defined and it is possible to move on to the next context menu.

This context menu is used to determine the lines of the net contour as well as their order and direction.

Initially, try to find the contour with search contour automatically . Activate the function and click on a line. If the desired net contour is not found automatically, switch to search contour step-by-step and click lines of the outer contour one after the other.

Make sure that all lines are clicked in order, in particular for separated lines.

Only when the button is active is the net contour defined and it is possible to move on to the next context menu.

With this context menu, gaps or overlaps in the contour are removed and dart /pleat hoods are constructed. In this context menu you will find the functions link simple single and Link , .separate in corner

All line transitions are marked by a green or red point. The functions from this context menu can be applied to these line transitions. Red points indicate very flat line transitions which should be linked. The user can treat flat transitions either with link single or with the interactive Link tool. As the assistant is aware of the order and direction of the lines, a simple click on the line transition is sufficient.

This context menu, separate in corner may be useful to enable subsequent corner treatment or for preparation of the parts for export. Having activated the function, the positions where the net contour can be separated are marked.

In the context menu seam allowances the seam allowances are added to the net contour.

Initially, all lines of the net contour are assigned the standard distance. You can assign a total of nine distance values with numbers, x or z values. This assignment is saved in the style. The application of global x values xg are particularly useful, see Construction parameter x value

In this context menu the remaining line transitions are closed via corner treatment. The line transitions are indicated by green points.

Select the required corner type with <TAB>. When the cursor is close to a line transition, a preview of the corner construction appears. Click on the line transition to re-assign or edit the corner construction.

To alter a corner, no reset is required. The part assistant automatically updates the record.

In this context menu, new contour symbols are constructed onto the outer contour.

Select the required contour symbol.

After clicking on the line in which the symbol is to be embedded, the point construction submenu opens, with which the exact position of the notch is constructed. The alignment must be observed.

In this context menu, new point symbols are set inside the piece.

Here also, enter the desired symbol length first, active the type of symbol and then set the symbol with the sub-menu point construction.

This context menu is used to construct or assign the grainline and the annotation line.

If a grain line- or annotation line already exists, it can be deleted with or and then re-constructed at a new position or with a new direction.

calls the tool .

With , a new line is constructed with the line tool, which immediately obtains the attribute annotation line.

At the end of the actual construction process, it is useful to delete all points and all unused lines. Click once on and or delete individual lines and points with .

The part assistant saves the deleting of points and unused lines as a last record step in this part. This record step can be reset at a later date, if required, and the points / lines become visible again.
