Part assistant

As detailed in Inherit, Shoe style development in Grafis ensues in four stages:

  • load background image of a last
  • Call and adjust a interactive Last construction
  • development of one or more pattern development parts with all required styling elements
  • derivation of production pattern pieces such as front, back, waistband, trimming, facings, lining etc.

Derivation of production pattern pieces usually involves the following repetitive operations:

  • inherit objects required for the pattern piece
  • close the net contour
  • add seam allowances
  • close corners
  • Set new contour symbols
  • set point symbols such as drillholes for example
  • set and special lines
  • assign part parameter

Die The existing Grafis functions from the different Grafis menus have been collected in separate context menus in the part assistant exactly for these working steps. The operations carried out with the part assistant are recorded with these Grafis functions.

Using the Part assistant reduces the time required for deriving production pieces significantly.

Having run through up to 10 dialogues, the Part assistant switches to the next empty part and the user can continue immediately with generating the next production piece.

Step-by-step guide
  • open an empty part or activate a part with already inherited objects
  • select Part assistant in the manufacture work area
If the active part is empty, the first context menu inherit.opens. If there are already objects (lines and points) in the active part, the second context menu close net contur opens directly.

The following buttons for navigation can be found in all context menus of the part assistant:

After having quit the part or the part assistant, all interactive functions called within the part assistant can be activated and adjusted via double-click or F12. Clicking on <F12> or double-click onto the seam allowance opens the 4. Context menu:seam allowances for this part. The record is saved in blocks in the order of the context menus.
